Industry news

What's happening in the green drink space

Not every green drink brand has a clean record. Here's what independent sources and federal agencies have reported.

Bloom Nutrition Sept 2025

A class action was filed in Texas District Court alleging Bloom falsely advertised its colostrum as containing 40% IgG antibodies. Independent ISO lab testing reportedly found only 10% or less. Bloom is also subject to California Prop 65 proceedings over lead levels in its greens products.

Live It Up Jan 2026

Live It Up recalled all Super Greens Original and Wild Berry products in January 2026 after the FDA and CDC confirmed 45 illnesses and 12 hospitalizations linked to Salmonella contamination. The source was identified as moringa leaf powder. Production was suspended. Investigation closed March 2026.

AG1 2022–2025

In 2022, ConsumerLab found AG1 contained lead at levels children and pregnant women should avoid. The company reformulated but critics note its clinical trials are manufacturer-funded and were not peer-reviewed as of late 2024. Fortune reported AG1's founder stepped down as CEO in July 2024 following reporting on prior fraud convictions in New Zealand.
